Background From 1972 the Kinney’s owned and operated Jest-A-Bit Farm a standardbred racing stable
1976-1983 Member of the Middlesex County 4-H and the Groton United States Pony Club competing in Dressage, Combined Training and Hunter Jumpers.
1980-1985 Competed and rode with Carol Lavell
From 1985 trained with Michael Poulin
From 1985 First Horse of the Year Award in Dressage riding Special Bid a horse Kelli owned and trained through Grand Prix and began training at Jest-A-Bit Farm
From 1986-2001 some of the accomplishments in Kelli’s Career included the following horses :
Special Bid- owned and trained by Kelli. Shown successfully first level thru Grand Prix earning awards at every level from the AHSA, USDF and Neda with scores as high as 82% at the New England Sweepstakes and AHSA National Championships. Special Bid was on the USET List in the Top fifteen at the FEI Levels.
Christmas Spirit owned, broke and trained by Kelli shown thru Int 1, appeared at the Equine Affaire Pfizer Fantasia, earning numerous awards with percentage scores thru the Mid seventies
Kelli now brings along the following horses her own that she has raised and trained: Jest-A-Jesture, Majestic Art, Jestic Art, Jest-A-Surprize, which will be showing in 2009 at the USEF levels and Prix St. George.
Kelli rode the following horses for Chick-A-Tee farm to numerous titles in order to further Austin Mason’s Danish Breeding progam: Chick-A-Tee Alf, Chick-A-Tee Mighty Moxie, Chick-A-Tee Alf, Chick-A-Tee Abbe.
Other mounts that Kelli competed for clients to earn USEF, USDF and NEDA awards and championships included: Pelenor (thur Prix St George) No Rivaal (thru Prix St George), Highland( thru Int 1), Stofa ( thru Prix St George) Vienna (thru fourth level), Don Grano (thru second level ) and several other Lower level horses.
In 1999 Kelli worked with Kenny Harlow’s natural horsemanship program “Training with Trust “ to incorporate roundpenning and problem solving (trailer issues included) as well as a new safer way to break young horses to prepare them for their owners.
In 2001 in order to be diverse Kelli entered into the new FEI sport of reining where she now also competes and teaches. Kelli has competed from throughout the east coast including the All American Quarter Horse Congress being in the tio
Jest-A-Bit Farm since 1986 has been proud of its ability to match people and horses of all ages and disciplines and proudly offers horses for sale at all times.
Kelli offers training for all breeds, she has worked with Warmbloods of all types, Friesians, Arabs, Paints, Paso Fino’s, Haflinger’s, Drafts, DraftCrosses, Ponies of all types, Quarter Horses, Irish warmbloods and Appaloosas, Fjord, Morgans, Hackneys Standardbreds, Thoroughbreds, Lucitanosm, Lippizaners, Andalusians, Tennesee Walker and a Cleveland Bay.
